Franciscan Health hosts Mediterranean cooking class
Franciscan Health will host a free class on healthy Mediterranean cooking for cancer survivors.
Franciscan Health Cancer Center Munster at 701 Superior Ave. will offer the free class on Mediterranean cuisine, widely considered one of the healthiest in the world, for cancer survivors and their caregivers.
“Attendees are invited to learn about Mediterranean cuisine with Franciscan Health Dietitian Elizabeth Remmers,” Franciscan Health said in a press release. “As Remmers prepares a meal, cancer survivors and their caregivers will learn more about the multiple benefits of the heart-healthy Mediterranean lifestyle, which includes eating nutrient-dense whole foods.”
What to expect at the class
The class will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 16 in the St. Clare Conference Room.
“Class members will taste samples of the recipes being prepared and will receive Mediterranean cuisine recipes to take home as part of the event,” Franciscan Health said in a press release.
How to register
The class is free and open to the public.
Registration is required by Sept. 7. Space is limited.
