Franciscan Health and Cedar Lake launching walking club
Franciscan Health and the town of Cedar Lake are launching a Monday Wellness Walking Club this fall.
The Cedar Lakes Parks Department is partnering with Franciscan Health to host the weekly walks that will take place most Mondays this fall.
What to expect at the walks
“The weekly Monday morning Wellness Walking Club sessions will include health education, a light walk and fun movement activities to help participants stay active and energized,” Franciscan Health said in a press release.
The walks will take place at 10 a.m. on Mondays from Oct. 12 through Nov. 16 at the Cedar Lake Town Grounds at 7408 Constitution Ave. No walk will take place on Nov. 9.
Who can participate and how to join
“Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. The sessions are planned to take place outdoors and will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather,” Franciscan Health said in a press release. “All ages and abilities are welcome. Attendees do not need to be Cedar Lake residents to participate.”
